Downhill Slide
This week has been on a downhill roll and hopefully will slow down once I get off the plane in Norfolk Wednesday.
Then again, I have this waiting for me, so maybe not
This last weekend was filled with a family reunion. True to form there was lots of family. So much so that one of the members got lost and found the wrong reunion down the road. It wasn't as bad as it sounded because it turned out they were related to us anyway. Afterwards, some of ours meandered down to theirs and vice versa.
You gotta love small towns.
There was lots of food and fun and games and even a little pickin' and grinnin' going on:

(I have no idea who any of those people are, but they show up every year so I assume they are in laws or out laws in some manner)
The lovely matriarch of the family was in residence:

Of course not everything was all sunshine and roses:

and the younger generation was busy taking notes so they could change things up when they seized power:
and naturally when it got to be just too much hanging around with the old geezers, the kids bailed:
(when I first married into this family, I was up that tree a lot!
)
Last but not least were the 'trunk shows' where everyone was buying, selling and trading handmade jewelry, crafts, Avon and Mary Kay out of the car trunks.
Yours truly even bought a new necklace and earrings:
(pay no attention to the scruffy looking bum hanging on my neck...the whole family is nothing but moochers)
So today there is running around and running amok to do.
Tomorrow more of the same, plus a doctor's appt.
Wednesday ...
I am outta here

I love it... the folks from the reunion down the road are related to you, lol. Also, the picture with YOU in it is so tiny that i can't see what you bought. NO GOOD.
Our family reunions are like that too... people show up every year that I recognise but don't know names! Hang in there... a cuddle from that face will make it all good!
@christianchemist - another family member sent that to me and she had already downsized it, so that's the only size I have!
Oh what fun and your take on everything is great. Almost makes me want to put up with my in-laws for awhile...

Mornin Glorie... I love your family tree...every family should have one like that - now you better get some rest before Wednesday...".Are we rollin' downhill like a snowball headed for hell?" - No We Are Not - but your gonna need your stamina to keep up (just don't say you weren't warned) - they may be the worlds cutest babies but they have more energy than I remembered....ilym

ps....Shawna sent me an audio tape of the new grandbaby's heartbeat yesterday...I whispered 'nice to meet you" as I listened!!!!!!!
Looks like fun. Not having a large extended family -- and the relatives I have all live in Canada -- I've never experienced anything like your reunion. And as small as it is, I liked seeing a pic of you, my invisible friend.
Awesome! I love all the pics! I hope you enjoy your trip, what am I thinking? I know you'll enjoy it. Get lost of rest tonite. Love!
Thanks for the sharing of the reunion. Quite fun!
I think that is so cute you where related to the other family having the reunion. It seems like it turned out well. Thanks for sharing.
You have a beautiful family, and I can just tell from those pictures that it was a good time!

Have a safe and fun trip to Virginia. Looks like we aren't coming to Texas after all. Karen is afraid to leave because Kalley is having pains and still has 7 weeks to go. She wants to be ready to hit the trail to Knoxville if something happens. Take care
Fun stuff! I love family reunions. We have strangers at ours too, lol.
Beautiful pics!!! I love the one with children up on the huge tree. I climbed trees a lot when I was a kid :)
I think you are on a trip. I hope it's terrific.
